As my train passed Jatibarang I saw B1306 in steam there. I arrived at Cirebon at about 2.30 pm and spent the afternoon looking around the station and shed area. There were about 20 steam locomotives present, half of which were in steam. Sadly, all the small shunters were out of use with 2 B13s, a C21 and 5 C11s dumped behind the shed. Only C1127 appeared usable but it was not in steam. The next day, after looking round the shed again, I walked along the road beside the main line until I reached the freight yard at Prujakan. Freights arrived and departed behind D52 2-8-2s, a C28 was shunting and working trips to the docks with a diesel. I went to the docks but could not get in to see the operations so I returned to Prujakan to photograph the main line trains. I also enquired about trains to Tegal but it would not be possible to get there and back to Jakarta in the time available and have any daylight time for photography as all arrivals and departures there were night time, except the stopping trains which were far too slow. The next morning I returned to Jakarta. On the way I managed to get some photographs of B1306 in steam at Jatibarang. |
