20th September 2007 We were scheduled to travel from Niagara Falls to Buffalo Depew where we would change to the overnight New York to Chicago service. All services appeared to be running to time apart from an eastbound freight which failed in the platform line until the evening when eastbound freights started to stack up and our train showed a delay of a few minutes which then started to increase. Although the line is quadruple through Buffalo it becomes single further east and it transpired that a train had collided with a road vehicle on a crossing in that area with our train stopped the other side. This was not good news as we had to make a connection in Chicago with the South West Chief to get to Santa Fe. It eventually turned up some time after midnight, several hours late.
