Napier

16th & 17th October 2007

When we first arrived in Napier we were looking for the aquarium and drove along the sea front. We stopped to enquire where it was but as I got out of the car I heard a steam engine whistle close by plus the familiar exhaust. I quickly crossed the road and ran down a side street, saw a level crossing but no sign of steam except way to the south. I returned to the car and headed south and we were soon alongside the tracks but the sign of camera laden people walking away from the trackside confirmed we were too late - we shouldn't have stopped. We did find a yard which contained 7348 and 3264. The remaining pictures were taken in Napier yard, the last three the following day.
